Historically, HMRC employees have been supported via disparate and numerous buildings across the UK. The Government is now seeking to enable secure interoperability between Departments, with the aim of bringing its employees together in a small number of large, modern offices, making it easier to collaborate and work flexibly and support digital ways of working.

About the Fujitsu-HMRC partnership

HMRC and Fujitsu’s strategic partnership has been in place since 2004 and continues to deliver. In the latest Cabinet Office-facilitated Relationship Assessment, the partnership was given a ‘green’ rating. Our joint focus is on modernising technology, to enable the transformation of tax and payments for citizens.

Fujitsu's support also extends to the Department’s COVID response. At the start of the pandemic, we worked with HMRC to enable 60,000 employees to work from home within a 48-hour window.

Our technology contributes to other critical UK services, from keeping the country’s borders safe, enabling trade and delivering secure communications to supporting the nation’s Armed Forces.
